Folklore is an independent London and online design store who sells mindful design for home and life. Folklore believes that better living is possible through design, that ecology and ethics should form an integral part of good design. They curate an edited collection of goods that are both considered and designful.




Folklore was set up by Danielle Reid and her husband Rob with a simple idea that better living is possible through design; both the online and offline shop features a selection of goods for home and life that are created with care and made to last. New Mayor Sofa design by Arne Jacobsen

The Danish design company &tradition introduces this fall a new sofa designed by the world famous designer and architect Arne Jacobsen for Søllerød City Hall in 1939. The sofa is one of his early designs and has never been produced before. Mayor Sofa was launched at Maison&Objet Paris September 2012.

Strek Collective – 100% Norway at Tent London 2012

100% Norway at Tent London 2012 – Strek is a creative collec­tive of four Norwegian designers presenting Times tableware, Button side table, Strek Light, Wandering Lines modular based trestles and also Copper 58 – a series of storage pieces which cleverly play with light reflections.

Lu Ink – design made with love

Lu Ink is a Barcelona based design duo formed by Australian digital artist George Angles and Spanish painter and designer Blanca Cases. Last year they opened a shop/workshop in Barcelona named Lu Ink to showcase the things that they love: paintings, cushions, trays, assorted things made of and on wood, textiles, and lots of other cool things for the house. Everything Lu Ink makes is either a one-of a kind or a limited edition, so you’re sure to come away with something truly unique.

Alp – interior architecture design

The alp style is modern, elegant and functional with a little fun. I enjoy the simple lines, peaceful to the eye and the mind. The alp range is new and fresh; it includes furniture, rugs, lighting, and accessories with a contemporary, functional and classic style that really caught my eye.




London based design studio alp led by Swiss-born designer Annick Petersen, Alp presents a contemporary range of interior products, including soft furnishings, inspired by typography and Braille script. The predominantly monochrome collection, alongside graphic floor plan printed cushion covers, aims largely at the male market.

Skateboard Inspired Furniture

Skateboard these days are amazing examples of graphic design, and some are practically objects d’art.  What a shame that they should to go to a landfill after the boards have lost their pop! Street Seats

Street Seats is a furniture project developed by Bade Stageberg Cox for the Pier 94 Coffee Bar at The Armory Show. The 50 chairs, found abandoned on the streets of New York, were repaired and given a new life with a coat of taxi cab yellow paint. The bottom of each chair is stamped and documented with the date and location it was recovered.
